Adult Ministries

Hillcrest Covenant Church offers a wide range of opportunities in learning fellowship, and ministry for adults. The goals of these programs are to provide vital fellowship with other Christians, better understanding of one’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and ministry opportunities to help spread the word of Jesus.

Sunday School Apple

The Adult Sunday School class meets September through May, 9:30 a.m. in the Anderson Fellowship hall. Our Sunday school program strives to help you bring Jesus into every area of your life through understanding of the Word, church history, and special topics of interest. Visiting professors, lay people, and the pastor teach the class throughout the year.

Small Groups

Covenant Groups are small group Bible studies that consist of 8-15 people who gather together to study, pray, and share their life experiences. If you are interested in joining a Covenant Group, please contact the church office at (815) 756-5508 and speak to the pastor.

Our Women’s Retreat provides an opportunity for the women of Hillcrest Covenant to spend time together and at the same time enables the women to deepen their walk with God. The retreat is held at Geneva Bay Centre at Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, in early spring. An outside speaker and song leader are brought in to allow all the women from our church to participate.

Choir

A choir sings on the first and third Sundays of each month from September through May. Their rehearsals are on the same Sundays from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. It is our hope that this schedule will enable more people to sing and also provide choir members an opportunity to participate in Sunday School. Everyone is welcomed to sing!

Our handbell ringers, known as the Jubilate Bells presented their opening concert at the Christmas Eve 2000 worship service. They perform during church services on the second Sunday of each month.

The fourth Sunday of each month is devoted to special music for vocal or instrumental solos or small groups.

A Praise and Worship team leads singing during every Sunday morning's worship Service.

In the summer we like to encourage people to share their musical gifts with the congregation by providing special music--either vocal or instrumental solos or ensembles--for our worship services.

Hillcrest participates with Hope Haven (a ministry for the homeless), Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, and other community wide ministries providing opportunities for service.
