Youth Ministries
High Five Youth

Our Senior High program is designed to help young men and women reach their full potential in Christ. Teenagers are more than the church of tomorrow, they are the church now, and we strive to include our young people in the life of the church. Our Senior High youth program is planned and lead by the our Youth Director and other adults within our congregation. Once a month we have an activity planned just for fun - to provide our teens Christian fellowship and an opportunity for outreach to their friends. For those students who want to seek God and his word, we have small group Bible studies at times determined by those involved and Sunday school on Sunday mornings. Throughout the year we plan service projects to help our teens learn to serve their church, family, and community as well as fund raisers to help our students attend special summer events, retreats, and CHIC, a country wide Covenant sponsored event.

Our confirmation program is designed to train our 7th and 8th grade students in the Bible and the history of Christianity. The class is a two year program taught by the pastors and other adult leaders. Through creative teaching, discussion, and homework, the confirmation class helps educate and motivate young people in their faith. The Confirmation class usually meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. , except during the summer. Class includes lessons about the history of the church and the Bible, prayers, singing, snacks, and fellowship. Retreats and service projects are also planned to help our Confirmation students put their faith and knowledge into action.

X4J (Extreme 4 Jesus) invites all 7th and 8th graders to their activites and meetings. If you have any questions, please contact Herb/Wendy Kuryliw at 758-4709. We have some fun and exciting things planned so we hope you can come. As always, you are always welcome to bring a friend.

X4J Survivor Retreat Huge Success!

During the week of June 17th we had our X4J Survivor Retreat with the theme of “Fireproof”. God had blessed us with a perfect week and the youth are still talking about what an awesome time it was. More importantly, God has shown down on this group of twenty two young survivors. He worked through them to show that we can have fun worshiping Him and learn how to defend our faith, put out Satan’s fires and live an honorable life. My congratulations go out to the winners of the Survivor Retreat. These Survivors were voted into these categories by their fellow survivors: Justin Kuryliw – Will Defend Their Faith in Jesus Christ; Stefanie Wessel – Will Lead an Exciting Christian Life; Allison (Stefanie’s Friend) – A Life Long Learner and Teacher of Jesus Christ; Jared Kuryliw – Will Lead an Honorable Life.

Justin Kuryliw – SOUL SURVIVOR

Thanks so much to everyone that helped. What seemed to be the smallest task for some was a big part of making this retreat a success. I am most grateful to Wendy Kuryliw and Jim Auman for sticking it out with me at the survivor camp site. To Kassi Auman for being a leader and getting all of the challenges setup and working by my side while braving the mud pit with me all three days. Thanks to all the other helpers listed and those that I may have missed in this long list: Heather Schueler, Chris Schueler, Paul VanderWeide, Scott Sisler, Becky Sisler, Victoria Young, Pat Kevin, Aaron Rasmussen, Amy Randall, Joe Geidel, Jo Swan, Jay Elliott, Chet Kuryliw, Karen Lang, Amy Wessel, Lynn Strawn, Lindie Diaz, Sue Guio, Pastor Todd.

God truly has blessed this church with helpers and hard working people. Thank you again!
